The San Silvestre University and Careers Guidance team endeavour to guide Form IV, V and VI students and their parents through the process of deciding what and where to study when they enter third level education.

Our team is dedicated to assisting students in making informed decisions about their university and study choices, emphasizing academic paths aligned with their goals for future success.

They support our students by:

• Administering vocational guidance tests and providing reports (Forms IV & V)
• Providing PSHE sessions focused on universities and careers
• Organising presentations and workshops by university representatives
• Promoting local and international university fairs
• Arranging individual meetings
• Providing workshops on the application processes and related topics

They also provide constant support with the local and international university application process.

With university and careers guidance, students:

• Come to know their aptitudes and interests
• Come to know the strengths and weaknesses of a particular interest
• Make informed choices
• Are aware of the career options available in their academic area
• Are aware of the career options available in their areas of interest

We have four counsellors:

• One full-time counsellor who oversees international university applications
• One part-time counsellor who assists with Peruvian university applications
• Two part-time counsellors who assist with international university applications

University Visits

We welcome visits from university representatives from Mondays through Thursdays during the lunch breaks (12:00 - 12:50 pm) or at the end of the school day (3:45 - 4:20 pm). This is subject to date availability. Preferable months to schedule visits/fairs are March to mid-June and August to October. 

San Silvestre runs on a March to December academic calendar.

• May 4th - 12th
• July 13th - August 6th
• October 5th - 13th
• December 19th - early March
